The Hillbilly Chicken Palace!

Working on tearing off the old stuff...

The inside all cleaned out and ready to get started...

Off with the old....

Brave fellas....  But the roof held and was determined to be fairly solid.

Gotta Love the many uses for pallets.
They divide our big chickens from the Banties now.

The dividing wall...

The fairly Finished Chicken palace..
We still have to add a good roost, anchor down nest boxes and install small doors to let the chickens out and keep goats from going in! We used mostly leftover or recycled construction material. I needed to make sure it was sturdy enough to protect them from other critters at night since there will no longer be electric out there. But they are still inside the electric fence that seems to help keep the predators out too. In about a week or so we will start letting them out a little each day till they get use to this being home. I hope this doesn't slow down the egg laying to much.. But I think they will be happier all around.. It will be high and dry compared to the old one. Now to tear down the old panel chicken house... That will be fun..... ;)
