Trophy Hunting???

Doe that Kara passed up on....

See if you can see her here??

Glad she passed up on her.. She had a baby with her...

Doe and baby running away...
Not a real young baby but still...

So then there is this little buck...
Quite Brave...

Very brave.....
Or maybe its Young and Dumb?

Here he is watching them....

Not a deer but a forest friend...

You dont see them very often..
Always fun when you do...
So Rifle season for deer is over tomorrow. No deer this year so far.. They still have another youth season and one other alternative.. Hopefully they will get at least one!! We have plenty of pork now.. Picked up the hog last Thursday.. It's good stuff!!.. A hog that weighed 351 live was about 253lbs dressed weight and actual meat was a little less than that.. Lots of Pork chops, steaks, ham, bacon and all that stuff.. I was never so happy to see an animal back from the processor.. and that I wasn't called by the people to hear them say You know that black pig? he is roaming the country side... Sorry for any inconvenience can you come catch him??Lol I had nightmares about chasing that pig... If  I do this again it will take even more thought and planning..
Our last batch of meat chickens are about ready for the freezer. I will be glad to not fight 40 plus chickens and 11 goats to get the feed buckets in the pen. I outsmarted them today though.. Fed the Chickens across the electric fence the goats Wont cross and the goats in the barn after I fed the chickens.. Goats had been eating the chickens food and the chickens the goats food.. Which they are made up of the same stuff just different ratios and chickens get theirs mixed with water and goat yogurt drink.. So nothing that would hurt either one of them....
We are getting ready for the Holidays.. T-day coming up.. lots of food I am sure. Was hoping I would have a homegrown turkey but not this year.. Maybe next...
Thats it for today.. Gotta get back to cleaning out stuff and trimming down things here.. We got to much stuff piled up.. Going through clothes and all the unused things sitting around..

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:3

Lovely pictures, yes, sometimes it's hard to pass on a shot, but worth letting it go. :)

Sounds like your freezer is stocked with yummy!

Glad she was listening to her inner voice on letting the doe pass by.

I can imagine the nightmares you've had about those silly pigs gettin out of where they were supposed to be. They've got to be much easier to keep up with now that they're in nice neat packages in the freezer. :D
